New Rory interview about his Ahsoka role!
Thoughts in no particular order.
1. That doesn’t look like a boat interior (go ahead Rory, laugh at me, I dunno all the technical terms) in the background. Doesn’t really look like a hotel either. Home? I TOLD YOU HE HAD A HOUSE.
(I did. It was a while back. You might not remember. It’s okay. I DID.)
2. OMG HE WENT TO SEE A NEW HOPE WITH HIS DAD. I know his father is no longer with us, per another interview he did years ago, and may have passed in Rory’s childhood because Rory later found a recording of his dad’s voice and was startled to realize it sounded like his own. He would have been eight going on nine on that movie night long ago, because ANH was released in the UK in December of ’77. I am so glad for him that he has that memory.
3. Also glad to see he’s back to Wildman Beard. I make no bones about adoring his beard. Well, I suppose he has to keep it for Ahsoka as well.
And speaking of that gorgeousness. Some of the reactions to his debut at Star Wars Celebration were pretty shitty. “Oh, they should have colored his beard.” And how do you fucking know they won’t? But if they don’t, there is bound to be some explanation in the storyline, if people would just shut the fuck up for long enough to find out. It’s weird. I am in many fandoms, but I hate the other people in nearly every one of them. Except Harry Potter, and I even hate most of those fans. Because they’re just so judgmental and stupid. They think they are catching all these “plot holes” and “fan service” and “flaws” and then they make it obvious pretty quickly that they weren’t paying attention. That they were projecting their own desires for the story’s direction onto the actually existing storyline and then throwing tantrums when it didn’t match. It spoiled my enjoyment. A lot. There are other reasons I dislike Supernatural and Harry Potter fandoms in particular, but I won’t go into those here. Some of you probably know already, but it doesn’t matter to any of you. (It really doesn’t.)
God. Give it a fucking rest. If you spent half as much time writing your own shit as you did tearing down everyone else’s, you’d have your own story out there just the way you want it and you could calm the fuck down. And we all say thankya.
