More random email info

So, I don’t know how many of you are film soundtrack nerds or geeks, but if you are, this might interest you. A person with the same surname recently emailed me with the following information about who composed the soundtrack to Rory’s Scott’s Porage Oats TV ads:

Martyn Bennett
Musician and composer
(1971 to 2005)

I presume that last line was his lifespan, which is unfortunate. That’s way too soon. My condolences.

(How the fuck is 2005 two decades ago? How. I ask you.)

If you have Prime Video on Amazon (and especially if you’re in the USA; unsure if this would work anywhere else), xXx: The Return of Xander Cage is available to watch on that platform currently. If you didn’t know, Rory’s in it. The movie is cheesy as fuck, but it’s also fun, and Rory is an actually integral part of the plot rather than only being introduced half an hour from the end or dying in the first fifteen minutes. Also, he’s not been in nearly enough comedies. Mon big man. Be in something funny. We will love it. I promise you.

Season of the Witch is also there, probably owing to the recent Halloween holiday, but I never got past Rory’s opening scene. I’ve heard things. None of them good.

Gladiator II is also there. I really ought to get into that one next. I have also heard not-good things about it, but I don’t trust opinions about recent films anymore because a lot of times the “critics” have a vendetta. So we’ll see. It ought to be worth it just to see Rory in Roman soldier garb. I’ll say no more than that. Sorry, Mrs. McCann.

(No I’m not.)

(Well, okay, not entirely.)

I feel like I’m finally starting to get a handle on things in life generally. I may be speaking too soon. But we’ll see.
